I just wanted a training program for an Ironman, Joe did that and more. I was never so confident and relaxed standing at the start line of a race.

Joe has a holistic approach to coaching and puts a huge emphasis on enjoying the whole process. He stresses the importance of recovery, sleep, nutrition, hydration and family life.   He is a great communicator and always has time for a chat.  He doesn't over complicate his coaching.  At the beginning I had a lot of questions about the sessions and always felt confident reporting how each session went. Feedback is very important to Joe. His communication before and after sessions and races is great. I really like this.

Along with a training programme I needed advice on fuelling for races. It has always been a problem and caused huge anxiety when racing.  Joe addressed this from early on.  He gave me a fuelling strategy for training sessions and races, in particular my sessions leading up to the Ironman. I was so well prepared I knew nothing was left to chance.

I work fulltime and like most people my time is limited, with a work schedule that changed a lot over the year, a last minute holiday, an injury and Covid meant Joe had to keep adjusting my program, sometimes at short notice.  I think this is where Joe worked best for me,  he was always flexible with my training program.

I gained huge confidence working with Joe.  Knowing that all my sessions were specific to me with all aspects of my sessions and races planned with such detail I knew nearly every time I was going to hit the targets set for me.

The level of support that Joe gives was really unexpected and went way beyond just a training program for an Ironman.  I'm looking forward to another season with Joe.
